Axo Light’s recent partnership with the young designer Marco Taietta has led to the creation of Sunshade, a floor and suspension lamp that is part of a series of textile lamps - a large part of the company’s collection - with a very personal touch of glamour.
Sunshade’s fabric, as well as acting as a lampshade, creates a moiret ‘now you see me, now you don’t effect’ that gives the lamp a touch of elegant sensuality. The tiny holes that characterise the soft net fabric of Sunshade give a glimpse of the light source, while in the inner part of the diffuser the fabric, which has become brilliant, produces an unexpected sparkle.
The lampshade has a sinuous troncoconical form with its walls slightly curved inwards. This design is particularly effective in the floor lamp, whose stand is gently inclined forwards towards the spaces it has to light.
The light is both direct in the upper and lower part of the lampshade and indirect as it is spread through the fabric: Sunshade is therefore ideal for situations that need intense lighting, but also for those that need a warm glow to create a delicately atmospheric environment.
