SPD
As the major part of the electronics, the
LED is sensitive to over voltages, moreover
when the fixture is installed outdoor and/or
far from the electric panel. The problem of
the over voltages is due to direct or indirect
electric discharges. It can come from diffe-
rent causes, here some examples:
- power grid noises
- faults of the power grid
- environmental origin faults
- accumulation of unexpected and excessive
electrostatic charges
- direct/indirect atmospheric discharges
To protect the fixtures from these pro-
blems, Augenti Lighting recommends the
usage of the SPD (Surge Protector Device),
to be connected near the fixtures or in the
upstream line switchboard.
The SPD can absorb and discharge the over
voltages down to earth or neutral.
