Antologia: dal greco anthologhía parola composta di ànthos “fore” e leghein “scegliere”, letteralmente
quindi una raccolta selezionata. Il concetto di questo catalogo prende avvio da qui.
Secondo passaggio, ma non meno importante, è cosa viene scelto. Anche in questo caso l’etimologia ci
viene in soccorso e ci indica una direzione; abbiamo infatti scelto ”i fori”, ovvero i pezzi più signifcanti
e importanti di ogni tipologia, oggetti che sono icone del loro genere, non solo divani, ma anche
poltrone e accessori per una collezione completa.
Anche il racconto degli oggetti trova la sua coerenza con il tema della raccolta e riprende il linguaggio
scientifco iconografco della botanica che diventa il paradigma di riferimento delle descrizioni, i vari
prodotti sono analizzati, rappresentati e spiegati con metodo, per mettere in risalto le caratteristiche
tecnico costruttive e le loro qualità intrinseche. Un vero e proprio ”alfabeto dell’ imbottito”.

THE ALPHABET OF UPHOLSTERY
Anthology: from the Greek word Anthologhia, composed of anthos “fower” and legein “to collect”,
therefore literally “a selected collection”. The concept underlying this catalogue takes its cue from here.
The second, but no less important step, involves what is chosen. Again, etymology comes to our aid
and points out the way. Indeed, we have chose our “fowers”, the most signifcant and important pieces
of each category. Items that are icons of their kind; not only sofas, therefore, but also armchairs and
accessories, for a truly comprehensive collection.
The story of objects is coherent with the theme of collecting, and lends itself to the iconographic,
scientifc language of botany, becoming the paradigm of reference of the descriptions.
The various products are analysed, presented and explained in an orderly fashion, in order to highlight
their technical construction features and their inherent qualities.
A veritable “A to Z of the upholstered world”.
Слово «антология» происходит от греческого Anthologhia (ànthos «цветок» и leghein «выбирать») и
буквально означает «избранное собрание». Концепция данного каталога берет начало отсюда.
Вторым, но не менее важным моментом является то, что выбирается. В этом случае этимология снова
приходит нам на помощь, указывая направление. Мы действительно выбрали «цветы», то есть самые
значимые и важные изделия каждого типа, предметы, которые являются иконами своего вида, не только
диваны, но также кресла и аксессуары для создания полной коллекции.
Рассказ о предметах тоже соответствует теме собрания и продолжает научно-иконографический язык
ботаники, который становится опорной парадигмой описаний. Различные изделия анализируются,
представляются и объясняются методично, чтобы подчеркнуть технико-конструктивные
характеристики и их внутренние качества. Это настоящая «азбука мягкой мебели».
