derno e geniale.

Un blend di lane neozelandesi, taftate a mano e con un effetto fina-
le che evoca con discrezione un clima anni Sessanta, contraddistingue i
tappeti della Collezione Joe Colombo: ed è un mix che al geniale designer
sarebbe certamente piaciuto, lui sempre così informato e aggiornato sui
materiali produttivi e sui dettagli tecnici e d’altro canto raffinato, attento
cultore del bello. Punto di partenza per tradurre in materia, colore e nodi
la visione inedita e futuribile dell’architetto milanese, alcuni dei suoi gra-
fismi più ricorrenti, o di progetti particolarmente rappresentativi. Grazie
all’attiva partecipazione dello Studio Joe Colombo tuttora attivo e diret-
to dall’architetto Ignazia Favata, tutto è studiato e riproposto in una sca-
la diversa rispetto al disegno originale, così da divenire pezzo di arredo a
sé stante, elemento saliente nel contesto in cui si integra. Bubbles e Isola
sono le prime realizzazioni della collezione Joe Colombo, di cui vengono
presentati nuovi ampliamenti cromatici. La serie Isola ripropone il segno
grafico presente nei disegni tecnici che Joe Colombo firmò per l’allesti-
mento dello stand Hoecht alla fiera della plastica di Dusseldorf nel 1970.
I particolari accostamenti cromatici, unitamente alla forma circolare, con-
feriscono al tappeto un effetto di movimento e al contempo di equilibrio.
A blend of New Zealand wool varieties, hand tufted and with a finish-
ing effect that discreetly harks back to a 1960s feel, are the distinguishing
features of the carpets from the Joe Colombo Collection. This eclectic mix
would have certainly been to the liking of the brilliant designer, who was
always well informed and up–to–date on manufacturing materials and
technical details, at least as much as he was also sophisticated, and an
attentive lover of beauty. The starting point for translating this Milanese
architect’s novel, futuristic vision into material, color and knots, had to be
digging up some of his most recurrent graphic elements, or particularly
representative projects. Thanks to the active participation of Studio Joe
Colombo, still in operation today and headed by architect Ignazia Favata,
everything has been examined and reproposed to a different scale from the
original design, so as to become a piece of furniture in its own right. Bubbles
and Isola are the first creations for the Joe Colombo collection for which new
extensions to the colors are being presented. The Isola series reintroduces
the graphic design element visible in technical drawings penned by Joe
Colombo for the Hoecht stand at the Dusseldorf plastics fair in 1970.
The particular color combinations, together with the round shape of the
carpet create an overall effect of continuous motion and at the same time of
balance.
Joe Colombo — Colour gradations, rounded shapes and sinuous lines re-
flect the futuristic visions of the modern and ingenious designer.
