With the Saturno collection, Alias renews its collaboration with the ar-
chitect from Ticino, Mario Botta, which began in the 1980s.
The table and coffee table system is characterised by an architectural
design in an artful interplay of solids and voids that gives the product
lightness and visual dynamism.
The solid central base characterises the entire collection: four mass-co-
loured MDF elements (black, light grey and brown chocolate), are ancho-
red to a shiny black powder-coated steel cylinder. The result is a sculptu-
ral structure, characteristic of Botta’s architectural language, on which
surfaces rest, available in various sizes and finishes.

Con la collezione Saturno, Alias rinnova la collaborazione con l’architet-
to ticinese Mario Botta, avviata negli anni ’80.
Il sistema di tavoli e tavolini è caratterizzato da un design architettonico
in un sapiente equilibrio tra pieni e vuoti che conferisce al prodotto leg-
gerezza e dinamicità visiva.
La solida base centrale caratterizza l’intera collezione: quattro elementi
in MDF colorato in pasta (nero, grigio chiaro o marrone cioccolato) sono
ancorati ad un cilindro in acciaio verniciato a polvere nero lucido. Il ri-
sultato è una struttura scultorea tipica del linguaggio architettonico di
Botta, sulla quale si appoggiano piani, proposti in diverse dimensioni e
finiture.
