Wood is the leitmotif of KAYAK, the seating collection crafted using traditional technologies to achieve a
technically complex design of great elegance and comfort.
The products in this collection, designed by Patrick Norguet, feature comfortable seating with great aesthetic
appeal and stability. The challenge for the French designer and Alias was to reduce the thickness of the seat
without compromising its physical strength. Once the legs, frame and shell are assembled, there is a sense of
great lightness from a formal point of view.
Available in different types, the Kayak chair was awarded the Red Dot Award - best of the best - and Menzione
d'Onore Compasso d'Oro ADI in 2016.
Il legno è il filo conduttore di KAYAK, la collezione di sedute sviluppata con tecnologie tradizionali per dare vita
ad un progetto tecnicamente complesso e di grande eleganza e comfort.
I prodotti di questa collezione firmata da Patrick Norguet sono caratterizzati da una seduta accogliente,
in multistrato curvato di tranciato di rovere o faggio fissata ad una struttura in legno massello. La sfida del
designer francese ed Alias è stata quella di ridurre al minimo gli spessori della seduta senza comprometterne la
resistenza fisica. Così le gambe, la struttura e la scocca assemblati, restituiscono un’immagine molto leggera
dal punto di vista formale. Declinata in diverse tipologie, la sedia Kayak è stata insignita nel 2016 dei premio
Red Dot Award - best of the best - e Menzione d'Onore Compasso d'Oro ADI.
