La Collezione accoglie tanti motivi decorativi, soprattutto di
sensibilità orientaleggiante. I Progettisti di Alchymia esplorano,
in particolar modo, il panorama produttivo di Edgar Brandt (1880-
1960), grande artista e gallerista parigino dove, nel 1925, durante
l’Exposition International des Arts decoratifs et industrielles
modernes, espone tante sue creazioni, e di altri, ottenendo un
successo planetario con ferri battuti, mobili originali, oggetti
curiosi, sculture e progetti per illuminazione…
È da questo mondo complesso, internazionale, attivo e stimolante
che si sviluppa, liberamente, la Collezione Damasco i cui pezzi
Edgar Brandt avrebbe ospitato nelle sue celebri Gallerie.
This Collection offers a lof of decorative designs, especially
oriental-based. Alchymia designers explore Edgar Brandt (1880-
1960) productions. He was a great artist and gallerist from Paris,
where, in 1925 during the Exposition International des Arts
Decoratifs et Industrielles modernes, he exhibited many pieces
made by himself and by others, obtaining a huge worlwide
success with wrought iron pieces, original furniture, odd objects,
sculptures and lighting projects.
On this complicated, dynamic, exciting international world
Damasco Collection is loosely based and its pieces would have
certainly been hosted by the famous Edgar Brandt’s art galleries.
