SENTINELLA: PEPPER SPRAY
Sentinella is an alarm device that immediately blocks an aggressor by spraying irritant gas produced from red hot peppers (OC –
Oleoresin Capsicum), a completely natural product approved by the Ministerial Decree no. 103 of May 2011 (Italy). Each Sentinella
unit saturates closed environments of up to 120 square meters (143.5 sq.yds.), without causing any permanent or temporary injuries
to intruders, by acting on sensory nerve endings (mucosal tears, blurred vision, breathlessness, and burning feeling on the skin).
The effects caused on the intruder last around 30 minutes, and the room can again be accessed two hours after the activation of
the device. Sufficient aeration will restore the room to its previous state without causing any damage to furnishing elements or
other materials in the room.
How it works
Sentinella is an auxiliary unit that can be hardwired or wireless-connected to an existing alarm system. The device is activated after
receiving a triple trigger-signal from the alarm control unit: ‘active control unit’, ‘break-in alert’, and ‘confirmation’ from an auxiliary
sensor. This triple-trigger signal avoid false alarms and errors in the delivery of irritant gas during the owner’s operation of the
alarm control unit. In any case, before Sentinella is triggered, the owner has around 30 seconds to deactivate the alarm and avoid
gas delivery. The gas is sprayed at a range of 5 meters from 3 different 20-ml bottles through three nozzles respectively to cover a
surface of 120 square meters (143.5 sq.yds.).
How gas is sprayed
The red-pepper-based irritant gas (OC – Oleoresin Capsicum) will saturate the alarmed environment with immediate effects on the
aggressor. Gas is only delivered when the system is activated (IN1 is unlocked), break-in alert is triggered (IN2) and a confirmation is
received from IN3 (auxiliary sensor) within around 30 seconds.

SENSORS
SERIE A03 is an indoor intrusion detection system composed of seismic sensors and electronic processing boards. It is employed
for the protection of doors, windows, glazed doors/windows, skylights, security bars and grates, walls, ceilings and safes against
shock, breakthrough and opening.
In SERIE A03 line, the electronics is separated from the sensor and is situated inside special processing boards, while in SERIE SPC/
SPR the analysis unit is integrated in the sensor.

A03AS for walls (piezodynamic)
Suitable for the protection of walls and other structures – such as safes and reinforced cabinets - which require very high detection
capability.
SE04N (digital)
It can be connected to all SERIE A03 sensors and can discriminate the signals produced by three different types of attack against
the structure: shock (repeated light shocks), breakthrough (single strong shock), drilling with diamond core bit or other electric
device (continuous vibrations). Three trimmers allow you to regulate the detection capability for each type of signal, while the
features of the board (event count, reset time, buzzer and thermal expansion filter) are programmed through two dip switches.
SE04/N is provided with two balanced lines, one for tamper and the other for opening, and is able to manage the reed switch of
A03B/MAS-C sensor.
