Evoluzione del precedente sistema Eros,
la serie Incas declina la medesima
intuizione costruttiva in altre forme e
materiali, ed è costituita da piani squadrati
e da gambe tronco-piramidali,
caratterizzate da due facce opposte
inclinate e dalle altre due verticali: per
“conicità”, solo le facce inclinate
sostengono il piano e sopportano le
sollecitazioni dovute al suo peso, mentre
quelle verticali non collaborano alla
resistenza di questo vero e proprio sistema
costruttivo, quanto mai simile
concettualmente a quello dei prefabbricati
industriali che Angelo Mangiarotti ha
progettato sin dai primi anni Sessanta.
Inizialmente previsti in pietra serena, i tavoli
Incas sono stati successivamente
sviluppati anche in altri materiali e finiture,
e trovano oggi un’inedita e sofisticata
soluzione anche in legno massello,
a dimostrazione di come ogni grande idea
possa essere sviluppata ulteriormente
senza perdere valore e significato.
Evolution of the previous Eros system,
the Incas series expresses the same
constructive intuition in other forms and
materials, and consists of squared planes
and truncated-pyramidal legs, characterised
by two tilted opposing faces and by the other
two vertical ones: for “conicity”, only the
inclined faces support the plane and
withstand the stresses due to its weight,
while the vertical ones do not collaborate
in the resistance of this true construction
system, very similar conceptually to that of
the industrial prefabricated buildings that
Angelo Mangiarotti has designed since
the early sixties.
Initially designed in Pietra Serena, the Incas
tables were later developed in other
materials and finishes, and today feature an
unprecedented and sophisticated solution
also in solid wood, demonstrating how every
great idea can be further developed without
losing value and meaning.
