About Agape
EN It all started almost by accident, in 1973. We often joke that that “we
would have liked to do something else”. And, instead, here we are: diving
headfirst into the bathroom, designing the most intimate space in the
domestic landscape for 50 years. Having fun, but never losing focus. Project
after project, we have continued to challenge the conventional interpretations
of the living spaces, armed with the informal inventiveness that our
Mantuan culture has given us. We perfected our vocabulary to be able to
express our vision of the bathroom and to enable architects and designers
around the world to do the same. And so, project after project, we created
our vocabulary: a broad, timeless and exquisitely Italian ‘micro-architectures
for elegant living’.
International by nature, we are also deeply attached to our ‘home’ on the
banks of the Mincio River, a stone’s throw from Renaissance Mantua. Our
land is like us: informal and hospitable, a fertile mixture of nature and joie
de vivre, culture and tradition, technology and craftsmanship, creativity and
lateral thinking. It is our land that has led us to believe that there should be
a certain, ineffable, elegance in everything we do and in the way we do it.
We are architects at heart and work with designers to create solutions that
are part of an architecture. Therefore, the products in the Agape catalog,
often born out of very specific needs, establish intense relationships with
the space that surrounds them, becoming elements of a carefully curated
language for a bathroom architecture.
