IT Palazzo Venart, che secondo gli storici risale almeno
al 1200, è uno degli edifici più ricchi di fascino che si
affacciano sul Canal Grande a Venezia. Noto in passato
come Palazzo Bacchini delle Palme, ha giocato un ruolo
fondamentale nelle vicende della città sull’acqua. Con la
sua meravigliosa architettura ha fatto da scenario a nobili
e sfarzosi matrimoni e nel corso dei secoli è stato prezioso
oggetto di scambio tra famiglie aristocratiche. Fra i suoi
proprietari figura anche un generale di Napoleone.
Dopo anni di abbandono e un restauro lungo
e impegnativo, oggi Palazzo Venart è uno degli hotel
a cinque stelle più esclusivi di Venezia. Un edificio di grande
valore per la elaborata architettura barocca, i magnifici
affreschi originali del XIX secolo, i soffitti in stucco finemente
decorati e i variopinti pavimenti in terrazzo veneziano.
Altrettanto sontuose le suite, decorate da tappezzerie
in seta, antichi e preziosi mobili rivestiti in foglia d’oro
e dipinti rinascimentali di inestimabile valore presenti
in quasi tutti gli ambienti.
Le stanze da bagno non hanno ricevuto meno
attenzione: tutte sono rivestite, dalle pareti al soffitto, in
una diversa tonalità di marmo – rosso intenso con venature
crema, striato bianco e grigio o con ricchi vortici dorati –,
in un affascinante contrasto con la purezza dei sanitari in

forma a croce dei rubinetti d’epoca, danno un tocco

EN Palazzo Venart, once known as The Palazzo Bacchini
delle Palme, is one of the finest amongst the hundreds of
stately homes that wind up and down Venice’s Grand Canal.
Indeed, historians believe that this elegant palace dates
back at least to the 13th century. Over the centuries, it has
played an integral part in the story of the Floating City, as it
was traded back and forth between noble families, hosted
lavish weddings for aristocrats and was even owned at one
time by one of Napoleon’s generals.
After years of abandonment and a lengthy restoration,
Palazzo Venart is now one of the most exclusive five-star
hotels in all of Venice, prized for its elaborate Baroque
architecture and illustrious original features like 19th-century
frescoes, intricately painted stucco ceilings and colorful
Venetian terrazzo floors. The suites, it’s no surprise, are
just as opulent, decorated with woven silk panels on the
walls, gilded antique furniture and priceless Renaissance
era paintings hung in nearly every room. No expense was
spared in the bathrooms, either.
Each room is lined from floor to ceiling in a different
shade of marble — deep red with cream-colored veining,
streaky white and grey, or swirling striations in rich golden
tones — which contrast beautifully with the pure white
bathroom fixtures. The clean, rounded shape of the Bjhon 1

classic cross shape of vintage taps, provide just the right
amount of contemporary flair to this otherwise
storied palazzo.
