THE CRYSTAL
The substantial difference between Glass and Crystal is given by the presence of lead oxide.
The important and necessary feature for the realization of certified objects in Crystal is in fact the presence of Lead
Oxide, which is not present in simple glass.
PbO increases the density of crystal and consequently greatly emphasize its refraction index.
Crystal thus approaches the optical properties of diamonds: the light, that touches it, is refracted much more than normal
glass, thus giving it that particular brilliance, typical of lead crystal.
The greater the content of lead oxide is, the greater is this effect. Only glass that contains at least 24% lead oxide can be
legally called CRYSTAL or Crystal Glass.
The presence of Lead Oxide in Crystal gives the product some fondamental characteristics that make it particularly in-
teresting.
The Crystal is in fact recognizable for its performance of Sonority, Brilliance and Transparency.
Performed tests prove that it is the most transparent and one of the very best for its brilliance, refractive index nD>1.56.
Last but not least, its Sonority is achieved thanks to the particular lead content, which produces a long, unmistakable and
persistent sound frequency, which will never be equalled by glass.
In addition, the slower cooling of the materiai caused by the use of PbO, allows to create artifacts of fine beauty for shape
and engravings, not obtainable with simple glass.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE MAINTENANCE OF YOUR CRYSTAL IN ORDER TO PROPERLY
PRESERVE YOUR OBJECTS THROUGH THE YEARS AND WITH THEIR ORIGINAL BEAUTY.
Tap water may leave mineral deposit on your crystal. These deposits can be removed by using vinegar on a soft, lint-free
cloth.
You can also add vinegar to soapy water when hand washing your crystal, to remove persistent spots or stains or clean
with a solution made with vinegar (or citric acid) and water (50%/50%) and let stand for 3-4 hours. Then rise with warm
water and wipe.
The same solution used on Crystal surfaces, allows to remove any residual matter of production, packaging and dust.
Observe the following steps to preserve the transparency and brilliance of your fine crystal. The secret is to use it and
clean it regularly, avoiding the use of abrasives or sharp tools.
Crystal is not treated to withstand rapid temperature changes, which may cause it to fracture or shatter.
Be informed that sometimes tiny bubbles can be present, they are formed by gases when chemicals unite in the melting
of the raw ingredients. These bubbles do not affect the quality or the beauty of the crystal.
