The aluminum \nis partly recycled, and selected items are made using recycled ArtFibre. \nIn our production there is minimum waste as ArtFibre residues can \ngo back into the production and all aluminum scraps are collected and \nrecycled. We believe in the importance of using recyclable materials and \nthe importance of using them in a way that enables further recyclability \nin the future. Therefore, our Exterior furniture can be taken apart after \nend use and sorted into clean, recyclable materials.\nSocial & environmental responsibilities\nTaking environmental and social responsibilities are ongoing processes \nthat we have been working systematically with since 2013. The story of Sika-Design began \nin 1942 when Ankjær Andreasen produced the first batch of \nsmaller interior items made of rush and willow, and since then \nthe family has continued his legacy.\nKnud Andreasen, Ankjær Andreasen’s son, took over the \ncompany in 1983, and Ankjær continued his daily inspections \nuntil his death in 1997. Since 1996 Louise and Knud have \nworked side by side bringing Sika-Design into the new century \nwith great designs, while never letting go of our strong heritage \nof great craftsmanship. \nIn 2013 Louise Andreasen took over the company and became \nCEO of Sika-Design.
