Often only \nfragments, precious and meaningful.\nThe fragment, even in its incompleteness and fragility, \nbecomes a key element for developing and reconstructing a \n'new' whole with a distinct personality. Fragments of textile \ncreations from other epochs, stored and preserved in archives, \ncan turn out to be valuable elements for composing new \ndesigns. But also fragments from the world of worked glass \nand gold, and from the world of stone and stucco.\nSimple fragments become the source of inspiration for new \ncreations, made up of new warps and new wefts. The fabric \nappropriates effects typical of other materials - the reflections \nof glass, the lustre of metals, the consistency of materials used \nin architecture.\nThe fragment theme then returns in the new textures that \nreference images, often fragmentary, of distant planets whose \nnames they bear. A journey to new worlds, in an exploration - \nalso of textiles - synonymous with innovation.\nLooking towards distant worlds, on Earth, is what the Venetian \ntraveller Marco Polo did in 1271 when he reached China via the \nSilk Road.
