Resi ancora più esclusivi dal materiale \nutilizzato: Kauri millenario, legno unico al mondo, che risale al periodo giurassico, l’essenza rara e \nantichissima datata oltre 50.000 anni così come il suo simboleggiare la rinascita, hanno assunto \nun significato profondo nella realizzazione di questo progetto. Il Kauri ha saputo sfidare il tempo, \nconservandosi intatto nel grembo delle terra e facendosi testimone silenzioso affinchè l’orrore \nnon sia dimenticato. I tavoli sono poi stati venduti all’asta donando il ricavato alle famiglie dei \npompieri di New York che hanno perso la vita a Ground Zero, un gesto concreto a favore di una \nsolidarietà autentica e sincera come il legno.\nThe project “Ground Zero... Ground Heroes” has been promoted by Riva 1920 to show solidarity \nto the families of victims of the Twin Towers’ tragedy, occurred on 11 th September 2001.  \nFive tables produced under the technical direction of Davide and Maurizio Riva and signed by \nsome of the most important and sensitive contemporary designers: Matteo and Renzo Piano, \nMario Botta, Terry Dwan, Antonio Citterio and Pininfarina. Even more exclusive thanks to the \nmaterial chosen: Kauri, ancient wood of New Zealand, a unique type of wood that dates back to \nthe Jurassic era. Its rare and antique essence, so as its symbolizing revival, gained a very deep \nmeaning in the realization of this project. Kauri challenged time, preserving itself intact within the \nearth’s womb, and it became a silent witness so that horror will not be forgotten. The five tables \nwere sold during a charity auction and the revenue was entirely devolved in favor of the families \nof the New York Firemen, a concrete gesture for a solidarity as authentic and sincere as wood.\nDas Ziel des Projektes “Ground Zero… Ground Heroes” bei RIVA 1920 war, Solidarität mit den \nFamilien der Opfer der am 11. September 2001 geschehenen Tragödie der Twin Towers zu \nzeigen. Die fünf Tische, um welche Entwicklung die Gebrüder Davide und Maurizio Riva sich \npersönlich gekümmert haben, wurden von einigen der bedeutendsten weltbekannten modernen \nDesigners entworfen: Matteo und Renzo Piano, Mario Botta, Terry Dwan, Antonio Citterio und \nPininfarina. Sie gewinnen noch mehr am Wert, da sie mit dem einzigartigen Kauriholz hergestellt \nwurden, ein tausendjähriges Holz aus dem Jura. Dieses seltenes und uraltes Holz so wie auch \nseine Darstellung des Wiederauflebens hatten eine sehr spezielle Bedeutung in der Entwicklung \ndieses Projektes.
