E lo fanno attraverso \nmessaggi comprensibili, emozioni  \nsemplici che ci coinvolgono tutti nel \nnostro vivere quotidiano.\nSimone \nBonanni\n4 — 5\nEN \nSimone Bonanni is ever so slightly intolerant of the idea of standardising, \nconforming design, while he is re-evaluating the functional and expressive potential \nof handmade creations and skilled craftsmanship, enhancing the uniqueness of the \ndesign even when part of it is engineered. “I want to protect my identity as a small-\nscale artisan”, he says of himself. “I sketch by hand, a lot, all the time, just for the \npleasure of sketching. I love to do portraits, abstract paintings and illustrations.” An \ninquisitive, spontaneous designer, Bonanni opened his design studio in Milan when \nhe was a very young man with a diploma in Industrial Design from IED and three \nyears’ international experience in Amsterdam. His designs hinge upon the emotion \nthat an object can transmit, much more than the object itself. Simone \nBonanni cerca di capire cosa possa \nportare un oggetto nel nostro vivere,  \nne codifica il ruolo e in base a quello gli  \ndà la parola lasciando emergere il tipo  \ndi atteggiamento, il tono di voce e il modo \ndi muoversi. Simone Bonanni \ntries to understand what an object can \nbring to our everyday lives. He codifies its \nrole and, based on that, gives it a chance \nto speak, allowing the type of attitude, tone \nof voice and the way it moves to emerge. \nThis creative ability gives Bonanni a \ncertain spontaneity in creating objects \nwith a special character. His approach is \nsentimental and his designs are a bit like \nhis children, beloved creations: “When I’m \nin a creative phase”, he reveals, “I wake \nup in the morning and I can’t wait to have \nanother look at the design I’m working on. \nIt’s like Christmas morning when you’re  \na kid and you find a toy under the tree”. \nDesign is a \nsentimental \nstory — Q&A\n— What makes you happy as a designer?\nGoing to sleep thinking about a design  \nand waking up in the morning to look  \nat the sketches from the night before.\n— What is your biggest fear?\nThat someone may be disappointed  \nwith my work. Opzionale, il box contenitore, \nper organizzare al meglio gli ambienti.\nEN \nAs a tribute to Sunday, the day of rest, the Domenica bed invites you to  \nrelax and recline in a solid, warm and protective embrace. A bed where you can  \nrelax, read and recline at leisure, gently cocooned by the soft shapes of a structure  \nthat creates a safe, intimate corner. One single continuous line draws a delicate, \norganic silhouette. The exposed zip is a key feature of the bed profile, transforming \nthe zip from a functional element to a distinctive detail. The bed contour widens \nmajestically and then curves downwards in a sharp diagonal as if to close the shape \nin order to protect, conceal or shelter. It is more than a bed. It is a place and to \nsome extent also a piece of interior architecture conceived as a place to set one’s \nemotions at rest. The metal base adds further lightness to the structure, giving it  \nthe appearance of floating in space.
