Maquetas \nque están pensadas para ser edificios \ny en las que ella ve la posibilidad de \nconvertirlos en lámparas preciosas que \niluminan los espacios que creamos.\n“Domita interpreta \nmuy bien nuestra \nmanera de vivir”\n¿Cómo convive esa espiritua-\nlidad y eternidad de la Dome, \nque está directamente rela-\ncionada con su tamaño con \nlas Domitas?\nJoana:\nLa madera natural transmite una \nmarcada identidad al producto, no obs-\ntante, es el juego de luces y sombras lo \nque confiere mayor carácter a las Dome \ny nosotros sabíamos que no queríamos \nperder la riqueza de sus matices.\nLas Domita utilizan el mismo lenguaje \nque las Dome. Esa era la premisa básica. \nTrabajar con un objeto más liviano que \nnos ofreciera la misma identidad. \nDomita de mesa o Domita \npara llevar\nBenedetta:\nA las dos nos encanta la Domita de \nmesa. Es una lámpara que te llevas \ncontigo porque te invita a cogerla. De \nhecho, esta versión interpreta muy bien \nnuestra manera de vivir, no totalmente \nformal. \n \nLámpara handcraft, materia-\nles naturales\nJoana:\nEs una lámpara artesanal, todas las pie-\nzas están cosidas a mano. El proceso es \nexactamente el mismo que en la Dome.\nAdemás, la Domita de mesa rinde un \npequeño homenaje a los carpinteros y \nartesanos que trabajan con las ma-\nnos. El asa de la parte superior es una \nBarrena, la herramienta manual que \nlos carpinteros han utilizado desde \ntiempos remotos  para realizar agujeros \nen la madera o las superficies blandas. \nEs un elemento que te invita a cogerla, \na llevártela.\nSois grandes amigas y las dos \ngrandes creativas, ¿cómo es el \nproceso de creación juntas?\nJoana:\nEs mágico. Bene lo que mejor sabe \nhacer son  edificios grandes, Parlamen-\ntos, iglesias, pabellones, mercados o \nrascacielos y yo a su lado, hago cosas \ndiminutas. Todo lo que hace lo voy \nviendo y sin darme a penas cuenta, lo \nvoy transformando en mi cabeza. No \nes ningún esfuerzo por que lo ves y lo \nsientes.\nCuando estoy en su estudio y veo las \nmaquetas me imagino lo que pasaría si \nles pusiera luz. Es inevitable, ¡hacen tan \nbien las maquetas! Me resulta muy fácil \nver la lámpara acabada. \nBenedetta:\nEl conocimiento de Joana es impor-\ntantísimo. Nosotros en el estudio \npodemos hacer ese juego de investigar \ny experimentar con las maquetas. Pero \nes Joana la que conoce bien el merca-\ndo, sabe bien qué luces existen y qué \npodemos aportar nosotros. How and when \nwas the need to develop the \nDomita born?\nJoana:\nDomes were so big because they were \ndesigned for spaces with large dimen-\nsions. We knew that sooner or later we \nwould need a smaller lamp that could \nadapt to other kinds of applications.\nAs an architect who works \nwith large buildings and as \na designer who knows the \npossibilities of light in small \nspaces like no other; how \nhave these two worlds been \nfound in a common project?\nBenedetta:\nThe good thing about our common \nfriendship is that things have been \ncoming out naturally.\nJoana is able to identify those objects \nthat are almost by chance in our studio. \nModels that are designed to be buil-\ndings in which she sees the possibility of \nbecoming precious lamps to illuminate \nthe spaces that we create.\nHow does that spirituality \nand eternity of the Dome, \nwhich is directly related \nto its size, coexist with the \nDomita?\nJoana:\nThe natural wood transmits a noticea-\nble identity to the product, however, \nit is the play of light and shadow that \ngives the Dome more character and we \nknew that we did not want to lose the \nrichness of its nuances.\nThe Domita use the same language as \nthe Dome. That was the basic premise. \nTo work with a lighter object which \noffers us the same identity. \nThe Domita table lamp\nBenedetta:\nBoth of us love the Domita table lamp. \nIt is a lamp that you want to take with \nyou. In fact, this version interprets well \nour way of living, which is not totally \nformal.\nHandmade lamp, natural \nmaterials\nJoana:\nIt is a handmade fixture.  All the pieces \nhave been sewn by hand. The process is \nexactly the same as in the Dome.\nIn addition, the Domita table version \nintegrates a small tribute to the carpen-\nters and craftsmen who work with their \nhands. The handle on the top is the tool \nthat carpenters have used all their lives \nto drill holes in wood or soft surfaces.  It \nis an element that invites you to take it \nand carry it away.\n\"Domita interprets \nwell our way \nof living\"\nYou are great friends and \nboth so creative, how is the \ncreation process together?\nJoana:\nIt’s magic. What Bene knows best are \nlarge buildings, Parliaments, churches, \npavilions, markets or skyscrapers and \non the other hand, I do tiny things. \nEverything that I do I see and, almost \nwithout realizing, transform in my \nhead. It’s not an effort because you see \nit and you feel it.\nWhen I’m in her studio and I see the \nmodels, I imagine what would happen \nif I illuminate them. It’s inevitable \nbecause they make such good models! \nIt is very easy for me to imagine the \nfinished lamp.\nBenedetta:\nJoana’s knowledge is very important. \nWhen we are in the studio, we can play \nat interpreting and experimenting with \nmodels. But it is Joana who unders-\ntands the market well, knows what \nkind of lamps already exist and what \ncan we offer.  She puts the imagination \ninto a field that we do not know speci-\nfically, our advantage is that we share \nthe same way of seeing and feeling the \nobjects that surround
