The basic principle \nof this project, in fact, is the \ntransformation of a simple two-\ndimensional sheet into a three-\ndimensional shell. \nTime was born of the gesture \nthat the designer makes in giving \nshape to a shell characterised by \ngreat stylistic balance and unique \nergonomic characteristics. The structure \nof the sofa uses a system of visible \nslats inspired from the construction \nof wooden boat hulls: elastic \nribs support the cushions and \nare secured to two wooden rails \nsuspended on stylish aluminium \nfeet. Shapes are reduced to their \nvery essence, putting the accent \non the materials, which take on \ngreat stylistic signiﬁcance. The \nconstruction principle of “e la nave \nva”, based on the multiplication \nof an element, ﬁnds expression \nin a graphic design which is \nconcretised in a sofa and an \narmchair. \nDE Das Atelier Oï wird mit dem \nSofa „e la nave va“ Teil des \nDesigner Teams von Alias. \nDie Recherche und der \nkonstruktivistische Ansatz der \nSchweizer Designer entspricht \ndem DNA von Alias, das \ndie  konstruktiven Prinzipien \ngegenueber dem formalen \nDesign bevorzugt. Il progetto riprende \nil disegno e le proporzioni di kobi, \nma in questo caso la seduta è un \nelemento pieno in poliuretano \nespanso ed è completamente \nrivestita in tessuto o pelle. \nLa nuova seduta arricchisce \nla collezione di una nuova \ntipologia che privilegia comfort e \nsempliﬁcazione del design.\nEN Drawing his inspiration from \nthe tradition of wire chairs, Patrick \nNorguet created kobi, the iconic \ncollection of seats, which, over \nthe years, has been enriched \nwith numerous interpretations of \nthe original project. The elegant, \nlightweight structure that brings \nto mind a suspended architectural \nobject has remained unaltered, \nand so has the frame enveloping \nthe shell. The ﬁnishes and the \ndetails, instead, reﬂect the many \nidentities of this chair.\nKobi soft is the newcomer in this \ngreat family, which has received \nnumerous awards through the \nyears. While the design and the \nproportions are the same as in the \noriginal kobi, the seat is a solid \nelement in foamed polyurethane \nand is fully covered with fabric or \nleather. The new seat enriches the \ncollection with a new shape that \nputs the accent on comfort and \nsimpliﬁed lines.\nDE Inspiriert von der Tradition \nder Stuehle aus Eisendraht, hat \nPatrick Norguet die legendäre \nStuhlkollektion kobi kreiert, \ndie im Laufe der Jahre durch \nviele Interpretationen des \nursprünglichen Projektes bereichert \nworden ist.
